Moving patients into, through and out of the hospital is a complex and costly task these days. The process must be orchestrated in order to maximize efficiency of all staff and services involved. In this presentation, Jeanne will share the issues that affect hospital throughput, how to assess hospital throughput processes, and effective solutions to improve admission, transfer and discharge processes.

Jeanne McGrayne: Jeanne has recently rejoined Premier after developing and directing the emergency department and hospital throughput consulting service at VHA for the past 9 years. She has extensive experience in emergency department operations consulting by working directly with over 100 healthcare organizations nationwide. Her major areas of focus are process redesign, cost and operational comparative data analysis, and clinical and operational benchmarking and implementation support. She has served as a subject matter expert on a number of emergency services benchmarking projects and most recently participated as faculty in a collaborative engagement focused to improve emergency department patient satisfaction.
